When we first encountered IPÊ, we were awed by its beauty, and excited that there was an alternative to ugly old conventional decking lumber. When we discovered how the sun, mold, and mildew alter it when not properly treated, we began our research. In a world full of actors, many versions of a story are possible. Our quest eventually led us to Penofin. PENetrating Oil FINish that leaves no film build-up or ‘solids’ on the surface of the wood. This is the most desirable method to enable IPÊ to maintain its beauty. Unless you want silver-gray or combinations thereof, it is NOT maintenance free. Whether we be pros, specialists, experts, or aces we know not. But this one thing we do know: we know how to keep your IPÊ’ or other exotic hardwood looking its very best.
